“Free” Sterling In New York At Highest Level
Rec 11 p.m. LONDON, May 12. Quotations for “ free ” sterling have now risen in New York to the highest level since devaluation. Rates ranging from 2.53 dollars to 2.57 dollars now prevail for all bank notes and blocked sterling held in New York. The official rate is 2.80 dollars.
