Smallpox In Calcutta
CALCUTTA, Apl. 4. An official report issued today says 2385 people have died of smallpox and cholera epidemics in Calcutta in the past three months. There were 1700 smallpox deaths out of 3230 cases, and 685 cholera deaths. Smallpox became epidemic early in January, and cholera was declared epidemic on January 28. Smallpox killed 184 people last year and cholera killed 1109.
