FRANCE TO REPLAN NATIONAL DEFENCE

New Zealand Press Association—Reuter—Copyright Rec. 8.15 p.m. PARIS, Apl. 4. France has decided to replan her national defence. An official statement today announces the establishment of two new bodies, first the National Defence Secretariat, and secondly, the Committee of Commanders-in-Chief. The Secretariat will co-ordinate mobilisation plans, handle preparations for putting French economy on a war footing, and deal with psychological warfare, scientific research and the training of general officers. The Commanders-in-Chief committee will advise the Government on everything concerned with the higher direction of the armed forces and will co-ordinate and direct them. An armed forces combined headquarters will be associated with it.
