VERY SOUND

Army Health Services AUSTRALIAN GENERAL’S VISIT PA AUCKLAND, Apl. 4. A favourable impression of the health services of the New Zealand Army in relation to the scheme for compulsory military service has been gained by Major-general F. K. Norris, C.8.E., director-general of the Australian Army medical services. He has just completed a brief inspection of the Dominion’s army health services with a view to the inauguration of a similar system in Australia. “ I was very interested in the whole scheme, but was particularly impressed with the goodwill and cooperation between the services on the one hand and the Department of Labour and Employment on the other,” said General Norris. Although he had not seen any of the recruits called up under the scheme, he said he had examined the overall system and found it to be very sound.
