Sir Alexander Cadogan, who is shortly retiring from the post as permanent British representative on the United Nations Security Council. He will be succeeded by Sir Hubert Miles Gladwyn Jebb, deputy Under-secretary at the Foreign Office and a leading British expert on the United Nations. Sir Alexander Cadogan has had over 42 years in the diplomatic service. He accompanied Mr Churchill when he met the late President Roosevelt at sea to draw up the Atlantic Charter.—London, Mar. 22.
