Wellington Auction Special to the Daily Times WELLINGTON, Mar. 22. A vacant section of 36i perches in Cheviot road, Lowry Bay, 12 miles out of Wellington, was sold for £2225 at an auction today. The crowd filling the auction room gasped in astonishment as the bidding soared far past the level expected. Those who had come with the hope of securing a desirable site on which to build a home took part like buyers at a wool sale in spirited bidding at the start of the auction. They began at £IOOO and moved upwards in jumps of £IOO, but by the time £I7OO had been reached most of the bidders had been silenced. Over the closing stages of the sale two men competing with each other sent the price up by steps of £SO and £25 until the section was knocked down at £2225-
