AIR SERVICE

Central Otago And Dunedin PRIVATE LICENCE ASSURED “ The reorganisation of the air services in New Zealand will be undertaken in the next few months, and a licence for a service to Central Otago will be granted to a private enterprise organisation which is capable of running a service,” said the Minister of Civil Aviation, Mr Goosman, to a deputation from the Otago Development Council yesterday morning. The deputation had stressed the desirability of a scheduled service based on the Frankton aerodrome, with a service to intermediate towns between Queenstown and Dunedin. Mr A. S. Falconer, for the deputation, said that a scheduled air service to Central Otago was necessary. The present charter service was not satisfactory. It appeared that neither the Government nor the National Airways Corporation was prepared to run a scheduled service.
