ART SCHOLARSHIP
New Zealanders who havq reached a high standard of achievement in painting or sculpture, and who show outstanding promise, are eligible for the Association of New Zealand Art Societies’ National Travelling Scholarship in Art for 1950, which is valued at £IOOO, and is tenable for two years. The successful candidate may choose the country in which he wishes to pursue his studies. The conditions of the scholarship require the candidate to be a resident in New Zealand who has achieved high standard in painting or sculpture. He must be between the ages of 22 and 40 years, must provide evidence of good character, as well as artistic sensitivity, and must undertake to return to New Zealand for at least two years after the completion of his stud!'''- Candidates must have a deflnit' rpose in applying for the award and 'he scholar will be required to report and forward examples of his work to the association while he is abroad. Entries close on May 1 with the secretary of the association, Mr J. C. Schneider, 59 Setton street, Wellington.
