BOWLERS AND THE HOME

Sir, —New Zealand is noted for its obsession with sport of all kinds—playing, gambling or merely looking on. I always imagined bowling to be a game for old folk—the retired type. Today all ages play, and what was a pleasant pastime seems to be developing into a craze: Many men spend every evening playing, leaving their wives without company. Many men leave the home chores also to " Mum,” a most selfish attitude. How about it, men? Keep the game a pleasant pastime, but do not organise it or develop it into a major industry, or let it create a family crisis.—l am, etc., Family First.
