LEAVING FOR ROME

Eleven Dunedin Catholics Eleven Dunedin Catholics will be leaving at the end of the week on the first of two New Zealand Holy Year pilgrimages to Rome. The party, which consists of four men and seven women, is:— Mesdames M. Fahey, B. Hanley and Dunlay, Misses M. and C. Mullin, J. E. McGrath and E. Mackie, Messrs F. Ives, Dunlay, M J. Shea and D. Lyons. The Bishop of Auckland, Dr Liston, will preside at a farewell ceremony to be held in St. Patrick’s Cathedral on March 28. The pilgrims will board the Rangitoto that evening, and the ship will sail at dawn the next day. The national organiser of the pilgrimage Is the Rev. Father J. N. Pound, of Oamaru, and the leader is Bishop O’Neill. Arrangements have not been completed for the second pilgrimage from New Zealand, but it will most likely be made next May.
