Randolph Churchill’s Name Mentioned ALLEGED BALKANS PLOT NZPA—Copyright Rec. 7.30 p.m. SOFIA, Mar. 21. "Yugoslav intelligence agents and Bulgarian citizens have confessed to a plot to assassinate the Soviet Deputy Premier, Marshal Voroshilov, and the entire Bulgarian Cabinet last September, it was officially announced today. An indictment charging espionage crimes against the State accuses 24 defendants of planning to bomb
the Dimitrov Mausoleum from which Marshal Voroshilov and Bulgarian officials reviewed the celebration on the fifth anniversary of the entry of Soviet troops into Bulgaria. During the hearing of the charges in a Sofiia court. Randolph Churchill’s name was linked with the alleged Balkans espionage plot. An official report said that he was connected with the initial direction of Yugoslav spy networks which began functioning in Sofia in September, 1944.
