SEA CADET CORPS
FORMATION AT KING’S
COLLEGE PA AUCKLAND, Feb. 21. A sub-division of the Navy League Sea Cadets Corps has been formed at King’s College, approval having been given by the New Zealand Naval Board. ‘Thirty boys have been enrolled and will begin training imraedi&tely. The headmaster, Mr G. N. T. Greenbank, said today that the boys were very keen. They would go to HMNZS Tamaki next Monday for a week's initial training. “As far as I know, this is the first school to form a sea cadet sub-division as part of its scliool battalion,” said Mr Greenbank. “We already have an Air Training Corps, and this subdivision wj,ll drill as a specialist unit in the school battalion, as the Air Training Corps has done.” Regular weekly training would be carried out under the supervision of an officer of the Royal New Zealand Navy Supplementary Reserve.
