APOLOGY TO JAPANESE

WASHINGTON, Feb. 16. Mr Louis Johnson, the United States Defence Secretary, has apologised to 14 representatives of the Japanese Diet for the refusal of the Boston City Council to allow them to attend a council session. “I am glad you are here, and I am glad to know you thought the trip worth while. I want to assure you that the rest of America has not felt the way the Boston City Council has felt,” Mr Johnson said. The Japanese are making a 45-day tour of the United States.
