REPORT TO THE NATION
Sir, —Your correspondent “ One Who Realises ” appears to me to be further off the track than ever before. He still tries to tell us in an indirect way that New Zealand is either bankrupt or'at least on the verge of bankruptcy. When we remember how much of our overseas debts have been paid off during the term of the Labour Government—debts which were a millstone round our necks and which were created by Tory Governments of the past—and the internal assets which have increased by £165,000,000 for an outlay of £154,000,000, then my billy v reply to him is—long may we be on the verge while the mass of the people are able to enjoy the high standard of living enjoyed by them under the 14 good years of Labour.—l am, etc., Rags.
