BATHING BEAUTY

MISS Y. OSBORNE CHOSEN Miss Yvonne Osborne, of Dunedin, scored a " double ” when she won the bathing beauty contest sponsored by the St. Kilda Improvement Society and the St. Hilda Life-saving Club at the St. Kilda Beach on Saturday night. Last year she won a similar contest held at the beach. Miss Osborne received a cheque for £lO and the runners-up, Miss V. Parry and Mrs J. Emerson, received cheques for £5 and £3 for being placed second and third. The five contestants paraded before more than 700 spectators. Mesdames D. Dennis, E. R. Smith, and N. H. Shepherd wer* the judges.
