FORTHCOMING CONFERENCE

STATEMENT OF GOVERNMENT

POLICY PA WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. An outline of the Government’s policy regarding municipal affairs will be given by the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mr Bodkin, when he opens the annual conference of the New Zealand Municipal Association in Auckland on March 7. This was stated today by the president of the association, Mr W. Appleton, Mayor of Wellington, who, with the secretary of the association, Mr A. Eaton Hurley, discussed the forthcoming conference with Mr Bodkin yesterday. Mr Appleton said Mr Bodkin promised the deputation he would furnish the conference with replies to last year’s remits and that his address would include an outline of Government policy regarding municipal affairs.
