ELECTION OF OFFICERS
OWNERS, BREEDERS AND TRAINERS PA WELLINGTON, Jan. 24. Mr E. Goulden, of Wellington, has been elected president of the New Zealand Owners, Breeders, and Trainers' Association. Other appointments of officers are: North Island vice-president, Mr M. J. Cooper (Takanini); South Island vicepresident, Mr J. E. Brunton (Otago); Executive Committee —Messrs H. G. Wallis (Southland). J. O'Brien (Otago), H. S. Williams (Canterbury), E. G. Debreceny (Wellington), G. McCormick (Hawke's Bay), C.- J. Thompson (Manawatu), C. H. Croker (Taranaki), W. T. Luxton (Waikato), A. J. F. Walker (Takanini), N. F. Drew (Auckland), and W. G. Prince (Northland).
Three fire calls were received yesterdav bv the Dunedin Fire Brigade. A cafl to a chimney fire at St. Hilda was received at 7.8 p.m. The other calls were an accidental false alarm from John Edmond’s store in Princes street at 11.12 a.m. and a justifiable false alarm from Prince Albert road, South Dunedin, at 12.51 p.m.
