Initial Registration For Military Service Completed Yesterday

Since January 9, when registration of 18-year-old youths for national military service began, 176 have applied for registration in the Otago district. Registration closed yesterday, and from now onwords youths reaching the age of 18 years are required to register within 14 days of their birthday. About 30 of those who have registered have already been given X-ray examinations, and the medical boarding and visual testing of the youths will begin at the Kensington Drill Hall tonight.
