HONOURS TO OTAGO

INTER-PROVINCIAL CYCLING EVENTS AT CALEDONIAN Otago took the honours in the interprovincial team cycling contest at the Caledonian Ground between the Dunedin and Invercargill Amateur Cycling Clubs on Saturday afternoon. Otago gained nine points to Invercargill’s six- All races were closely contested except in the 4000 Metres Prusuit Race, when the Otago team lapped Invercargill, who had lost one rider, over the distance of nine laps and a-quarter. Southern riders, however, were successful in several of the handicap events. A fighting finish between R. WilsonPyne and E. I. Knox in the Five Mile* Memorial Shield Handicap was the feature of the day. The veteran, WilsonPyne, just managed to head Knox at the post.
