SITUATIONS VACANT FF-COURSE BETTING. EXECUTIVE APPOINTMENTS. TOTALISATOR AGENCY BOARD. APPLICATIONS are invited for the position of GENERAL MANAGER, SECRETARY and CHIEF ACCOUNTANT to the Totalisator Agency Board created by the Gaining Amendment Act, 1949. The duties involved will be the introduction and operation of the Scheme of the New Zealand Racing and New Zealand Trotting Conferences for the establishment of Totalisator Agencies throughout New Zealand for off-course betting on Racing and Trotting meetings. The Head Office of the Board will be at Wellington. (a) GENERAL MANAGER. The successful applicant must be a highly competent and experienced administrator and organiser. He must have the capacity to build up the organisation from nothing, assume responsibility for carrying out the policy of the Board, open offices and agencies throughout the country, and staff them and supervise their efficient operation. Salary will be min. £2500 —max. £3OOO per annum in accordance with qualifications and ability. (b) SECRETARY. This highly important administrative position calls for a man of ability and experience. He must be qualified in all phases of secretarial work, and have the organising capacity to assist the General Manager in his duties. Salary min. £l2so—max. £2OOO per annum in accordance with qualifications. (c) CHIEF ACCOUNTANT. • For this post the successful applicant must be a qualified accountant and a man of ability, integrity, experience and personality. Knowledge of Branch Accounts is an important requirement. Salary min. £l2so—max. £2OOO p.a. according to qualifications. The successful applicant in each case will enjoy the benefits of a Superannuation Scheme. He will be required to pass a medical examination. v The minimum term for each engagement will be a period of three years commencing not later than May 1, 1950, and thereafter from y?ar to year subject to six months’ notice by either party.
