WINNER OF CHIEF EVENT AT EPSOM PA , AUCKLAND. Dec. 31. More shan £500,000 was put through the totalisator on the three days'of the Auckland Trotting Club's summer meeting, which was concluded at Epsom on Saturday. The win and place turnover for the day was £174,514, compared with £91.250 last year, when the weather was wet. The doubles totalisator handled £10.474. The win and place investments for the three days were £516,551 10s, against £397,164 10s last year, an increase of £119,387. The betting on the doubles totalisator for the three days amounted to £26,439 15s. The meeting was concluded in hot weather and the course was fast. The doubles totalisator was operated on the President's Handicap and the New Year Handicap, the winning combination, Dundee Sandv and Petite Direct (bracketed with Goldsmith), returning £ll 0s 6d for ss.
