“Banks Peninsula,” an oil by Archibald Nicoll, presented to the Dunedin Art Gallery by Mr S. C. Sutherland last year, will be given special display at the gallery during January. Mr Nicoll, who paints both landscapes and portraits, was born in Canterbury. He trained at the Christchurch School of Art, and in London and Edinburgh. He has been elected a member of the Society of Scottish Artists.
