NEW SOUTH WALES LOTTERIES N ZP A—Copyright SYDNEY, Dec. 30.. Investors in the New .South Wales State lotteries in 1949 spent £6,105,000 buying more than 22,000,000 tickets. The number of tickets sold was 2,400,000 more than last year, and constituted an all-time record. Sufficient tickets were sold to provide every man, woman, and child in New South Wales with seven tickets each. During the year 222 lotteries were drawn, including 39 in the 40 working days before Christmas. Net revenue in the past six months was £1,157,750. The proceeds are distributed among public hospitals throughout the State.
