PA WELLINGTON, Dec. 29. By winning the Women’s Singles, the' Women’s Doubles with Mrs M. Green, and the Mixed Doubles with P Nicholls, Mrs T. McGregor today took Mrs J. Robb’s place as a holder of three Wellington tennis championship titles. S. Painter beat J. Hamilton in the final of the Men’s Singles—a match which went to five sets and-in which Hamilton was unfortunately unable to make a real contest of the last set because he was overtaken by illness. Details of the finals are:— Men’s Singles: S. Painter beat J. Hamilton, 6—o, 5 —7, 5 —7, B—6,8 —6, 6—l. Men’s Doubles: P. Nicholls and A. Wetherall beat J. Taylor and P. H. Lauder 6—l, 6—4. Women’s Singles: Mrs T. McGregor beat Mrs M. Purcell, 6—2, 6—3. Women’s Doubles: Mesdames T. McGregor and M. Green beat Misses B. Meyer and J. O’Brien. 6—l, 6—3 Mixed Doubles: P. Nicholls and Mrs T. McGregor beat J. McDonald and Mrs M. Green, 3—6, 6—4, 6 —l.
