SURF REPORTS
ST. KILDA AND ST. CLAIR
Surf patrols have been maintained by both the St. Clair and St. Kilda Surf Life Saving Clubs in their respective areas for the past week. They will continue to be maintained during the remainder of the summer. Reports on the condition of the surf at the two beaches yesterday are: St. Kilda. —There was a bad hole in the surf yesterday almost directly in front of the clubhouse, but the area towards Lawyers' Head was in good condition and the surf generally was calm. It is expected that it should remain calm for the week-end. unless the wind changes direction. St. Clair.—The surf was also not heavy at St. Clair yesterday, but there was a strong rip out to sea and a deep channel about 50 yards from the shore. There was a dangerous area between the salt water baths and the clubhouse. Provided, however, that bathers kept between the flags, conditions for swimming were good. It is expected that conditions should remain satisfactory over the week-end.
