FATAL FALL INTO RIVER

PA TAUMARUNUI, Dec. 23. Joseph Koroheke, aged T 9, single, was drowned in the river at Ongarue yesterday afternoon. He had been working as a bushman on the west coast of the South Island, and came home yesterday morning to. spend Christmas with his mother, Mrs Tapatahe, at Ongarue. The river runs through the property at the back of his mother’s house, and Koroheke was seen to go down to the stream, where he apparently slipped on the' bank and fell into the river, 15 feet below.
