COOL SOUTHERLY WINDS The official. weather forecast issued by the Government Meteorologist in Wellington is:—‘ Situation.—A low pressure trough lies east of New Zealand and an anticyclone is over the Tasman Sea. Forecast to 5 p.m.—Moderate south to south-west winds; some scattered showers about and south of Dunedin, but weather mainly fair to cloudy, temperatures cool to moderate. Further Oiitlook.—Fair to cloudy.-
Weather in Dunedin.—Although there was little rain over the week-end temperatures were low and the weather generally was unseasonable. The maximum temperature on Saturday was 59.6 degrees and the minimum 51 degrees. Them' was an absence of both sun and rain. Yesterday’s temperatures were slightly lower, the maximum being 57.9 degrees and the minimum 50.7 degrees. The sun shone for 2hr 54min, and the rainfall recorded was O.Olin. A west wind predominated. The barometer was fairly constant, the midnight reading being 29.90 in.
