BRABIN SHIELD TEAM

Players For Northern Tour R. I. Long, captain of the Otago Boys’ High School eleven, has been chosen to complete the Otago Brabin Shield team which will leave on its northern tour by the 11.35 a.m. express on Thursday. December 29. The team will play Canterbury on December 30 and 31, and will then go to Wellington to take part in the Brabin Shield tournament on January 2.3, 4, and 5, during which time it will play matches against Auckland and Wellington. The team will arrive back in Dunedin on January 7. The personnel of the Brabin Shield team, which consists of players under 20 years of age, is: I. Burrows (North Otago) captain, J. C. Alabaster (Southland) deputy-captain, T. Flaws (Kaikorai), R. I. Long (Otago Boys' High School), W. Gough (High School Old Boys). B. Collie (Albion-YMCA). J. A. Warner (Grange), I. Aitkenhead (Grange). C. Johnston (North Otago), I. D. Payne . (Southland), M. Watson (Southland), A. R. Harrington (Southland). Mr W. J. Braithwaite is the manager.
