Valley Beats Carisbrook

Carisbrook carried its score from 106 for seven wickets to 162. I. Gallaway, who opened the innings, was the last batsman to be dismissed. He made 50runs. D. Milne batted attractively to compile 35 runs in 38 minutes. R. Peat turned the ball quickly from the leg, and captured the last three wickets, making his total for the Innings five wickets for 59 runs. The North-East Valley team was not as confident in its second innings as in the first and the last wicket fell With the totai at 135. D. Trevathan hit brightly to compile 35, and R. Blair made 26 in neat style. J. Valentine finished with the excellent figures of four wickets for 9 runs off 19 overs, 11 of which were maidens. R. Harwood also bowled well to take four wickets for 80. Carisbrook required 186 runs for victory. and had 130 minutes of play left.
