MISS YVETTE WILLIAMS PERFORMANCES AT GORE PA INVERCARGILL, Dec. 18. Miss Yvette Williams, national women’s long jump and shot putt title holder, was in brilliant form at the athletics meeting at Gore yesterday. In her third duel with the former Baltic champion, Mrs 27. Ringinbergs, now of Winton, Miss Williams was again the winner. She put the women's shot 37ft 9ins, breaking the ‘ existing record by 20i inches. Miss Williams completed a fine double by clearing 18ft 7in in the Long Jump—only half an inch short of her best. The meeting was held on a rain sodden track in cold weather. C. Simpson, Otago half-miler, started 10 yards behind scratch in the 880 Yards and finished about a foot behind the winner in lmin 56 l-ssec.
