INCREASE NEXT YEAR

ARGENTINA’S EXPORTS TO UNITED STATES NZPA—Copyright

Rec. 11 p.m, WASHINGTON, Dec. 15. Argentina’s exports to the United States are expected to be increased at least 75 per cent, next year as a result of trade talks completed between the two nations, the State Department said today. Argentina’s exports to the United States should rise from the present annual rate of 100,000,000 dollars to between 175,000.000 and 200,000,000 dollars next year. The increase, in addition to enabling Argentina to buy more from the United States, would enable her to pay off her accumulated trade debt of about 140,000,000 dollars. Argentina’s drive for increased exports to the United States will be based on the general relaxation of export controls, the lowering of prices, and goods such as hides, wool, tinned meat and tallow will become more competitive in price.
