The ••.'facts given in evidence were that “ Oswald McCallum, shepherd to Messrs -'Wilkie and Thompson, on the previous • ’ discovered the prisoner in some rough tussocky country on the CarV drona Station, apparently dressing a sheep which had been killed. He recognised the sheep as his employers '.property and- gave the man into custody. The prisoner offered to pay, for v the sheep and said his dog had killed •it.
