RETURNING HOME
NAVAL RESERVE LAUNCH After a sojourn of about two months ashore at Lyttelton, the seaward defence launch 1350 of the RNZNVR (Otago Division) will return to Dunedin on Sunday afternoon as a completely overhauled ship. Certain under-water equipment was lifted from the launch at Lyttelton, and at the same time she was put on the slip and painted. The launch will be brought back to Dunedin by nine ratings of the Otago Division, under the command of Lieutenants D. L. Millar and N. L. Millar, who will leave for Lyttelton tomorrow night. They will sail frcm Lyttelton on Saturday morning and will allow plenty of time for the homeward voyage so that an examination of the performance of the overhauled launch may be made. On the voyage north before arriving at Lyttelton, the launch engaged in its first combined exercises since it came under the command of the Otago Division, being associated with the unit attached to the Canterbury Division. This was only the second cruise undertaken by the launch away from its home port. At the moment, no cruises have been planned for Christmas or the New Year:
