AIR SERVICE FOR CENTRAL OTAGO IS BEING CONSIDERED
Special Correspondent WELLINGTON, Dec. 15.
Provision of air services for Central Otago has already been the subject of representations to the Minister in Charge of Civil Aviation, Mr Goosman, by the Minster of internal Affairs, Mr Bodkin, in his capacity as member of Parliament for Central Otago. “ I made no such promise at all,” said Mr Bodkin, when the statement by the president of the Dunedin Chamber of Commerce, Mr V. C. Preen, that Mr Bodkin had promised the people of Central Otago a pro-perly-equipped service run to a set schedule was referred to him to-night. Mr Bodkin added that it was the former Minister in Charge of Civil Aviation, Mr Jones, who had made that promise. “The matter does not come under my jurisdiction,” said Mr Bodkin. “ I have already made full representations to Mr Goosman about air services for Central Otago, and Mr Goosman is going to give the whole question ms consideration.”
