RIVERS CLEAR

Good Holiday Prospects

The recent heavy experienced in North Otago have improved the rivers, which now contain plenty of water. The Waitaki is in excellent order and very clear, and is likely to remain so over the week-end. The tributaries are also in good order. Several campers are already making use of the ideal river conditions, and provided the weather is fine over Christmas, it is expected that large numbers of visiting campers will make their holidays on the Waitaki. Fish are still being taken and anglers appear to be well satisfied with their catches to date. The Kakanui is also expected to have improved with the recent fresh and should be in ideal order for the week-end.
