PRIZE-GIVING CEREMONY
The annual break-up ceremony of St. Philomena’s College took place last evening in the presence of large gathering of parents and friends of the pupils. The principal prizes awarded were:— Dux of College.—Valerie Walsh. Best All-round Girl.—Margaret Cliff. Senior Christian Doctrine. —Valerie Walsh. , , „ . English Literature.—Helen Ford. Senior Latin and French.—Joyce Mulrooney.
Form Va.—Joyce Mulrooney and Pamela McCloy (equal), Margaret Cliff 3. Form Vb.—Christian Doctrine: Gaynor Garrett. Class prizes: Gaynor Garrett 1, Mary Wilkinson 2. Angela O’Neill 3. Form IV Academic.—Christian doctrine: Alice Hardiman. Class prizes: Alice Faid 1, Alice Hardiman 2. Pauline Heenan 3. Form IV Commercial—Kathleen Cox 1, Josephine Fennessy 2, Marie Ryan 3. Form 111 Academic.—Christian doctrine: Glenys Cusack. Class prizes: Glenys Cusack 1, Janette Walsh 2, Bridie Wilkinson 3.
