DEATH DURING OPERATION

Hugh Kirkland, aged 70, a retired engineer, of Brighton road, Green Island, died while undergoing .an operation at the Dunedin Hospital about 7.50 p.m. on Wednesday. He had been suffering from an affliction of the throat for the last three years, which necessitated an operation. He died while under anaesthetic.
