AREA DEFINED

PROPOSAL OF MEETING REGIONAL PLANNING SCHEME The definition of an area was decided last night at a further meeting of local authorities concerned in the present regional planning scheme. The area proposed includes the whole of the Otago Peninsula, the City of Dunedin, the boroughs of Port Chalmers, Green Island, West Harbour and Mosgiel, that part of Waikouaiti County including the whole of North Harbour and the Blueskin survey district, and that part of the Taieri County comprising the area recently gazetted as an extra urban region, as well as a portion lying to the north towards the Silver Peaks

The meeting also agreed on the general form of resolutions to be put before local authorities for the constitution of a Regional Planning Committee. The resolutions will also be submitted to Wellington.
