“OUR TOWN” AT OAMARU

Sir, —I witnessed the efforts of the Oamaru Drama Club in its production of •• Our Town ” and cannot help offering them the suggestion that in future they attempt a play within their reach, and unless they want to run at a loss in future, not to over-advertise, as you can fool the public once, or even twice, but not always. Also, I would . suggest to the audience that although they are not satisfied with the entertainment, they remember it is only an amateur show and some very promising young players may be disheartened by their actions in getting up and walking out. However, those who waited to see the last act will no doubt agree with me that it was a sacrilege. It may be excusable to omit " The King ” at a political meeting but not at a performance that is supposed to be educational.—l am. etc.. Disgusted.
