Princess Elizabeth And Solent Flying Boat

FLIGHT TO NEW ZEALAND 6ec 9 p.m. MALTA, Dec. 1. As the Solent flying boat Aotearoa II passed over Malta’on her delivery flight to Tasman Empire Airways, she signalled a message to Princess Elizabeth, who christened the boat at Belfast in May. Signed by Captain I. Patterson, the message said that the crew “submit their humble duty to your Royal Highness, and are proud and happy to have the privilege of flying this great aircraft.” Princess Elizabeth signalled in reply, wishing the crew “ a very pleasant flight to Auckland.”
