RECEPTION HELD

NEW PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH MODERATOR' THE RT. REV. R. S. WATSON Congratulations were conveyed to the newly-installed Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, the Right Rev. R. S. Watson, and Mrs Watson, at a reception held on Tuesday night at St. Andrew’s, Mr Watson's own church. The acting Mayor, Cr L. M. Wright, spoke on behalf of the city, and the session clerk, Mr K. W. Cameron, spoke for the congregation and made a presentation to Mr Watson on behalf of the four churches of which he has been minister—Devonport (Auckland), Khandallah (Wellington). Ashburton and St. Andrew's. Other speakers were the Moderator of the Dunedin Presbytery, the Rev. A. Macfarlane, Principal A. L. Haddon, for the National Council of Churches, and Archdeacon W. A. Hamblett, vicar of St. Matthew’s. Mr A. C. Cameron was chairman and associated with him were Sir Robert Kennedy and the Very Rev. Dr D. C. Herron.
