Mr Nehru Confident Of Closer Relations Between West And Asia

The Prime Minister of India, Pandit Nehru to-day that he believed his 26-day visit to the United States would bring about closer relations between the Western w'orld and Asia. Mr Nehru said questions about East-West relations had been asked of him In America over and over again. Some people had a misconception about what was meant by " the East,” he added. “If by ‘ the East ’ you mean Asia, I certainly think relations between the East and West will draw closer by my visit.” Mr Nehru will leave in President Truman’s private plane to-morrow for London.
