TALK ON POTTERY

An informative talk on pottery was given by Mrs Gerald Lane to the Caversham branch of the Otago Home Economics Association. Mrs Lane traced the art from the time of primitive man and described the different types, shapes, and colours of pottery which are peculiar lo certain countries and peoples. She then modelled in clay a wall vase and an ornamental basket, and explained the next processes of painting and glazing these objects. The demonstration gave members an added appreciation of the display of beautiful pieces of pottery made by Mrs Lane. Mrs Adam thanked the speaker.
