Former Hungarian Minister ESPIONAGE CHARGE NZPA—Copyright Rec. 9 p.m. BUDAPEST, Oct. 15.' Laszlo Rajk, the former Hungarian Foreign Minister, and two other defendants in the recent trial were hanged here this morning following the rejection of their appeals yesterday. The other two hanged were Tibor Szonyi, former Central Personnel Secretary and member of the Central Committee of the Hungarian Workers' Party, and Andras Szalai, his assistant. All three confessed to and were convicted of espionage, treason, and attempts to overthrow the Hungarian Government in complicity with Marshal Tito and the American Intelligence Service, Two others involved in the same six-day trial, which ended on September 24, were sentenced to life imprisonment, one to nine years, and two, including Lieutenant-general George Palffy, former Chief of Staff and Defence Minister, were sent to a military court for retrial.
