WEDDING AT WAN AKA

Gillespie—Scaife The wedding of Mr James Gillespie, youngest son of Mrs J. Gillespie, of Luggate. to Miss Sheila Scaife, of West Wanaka Station, took place on Wednesday at St. Colomba's Church. Wanaka. The bride wore a beautiful gown .of white needle run lace over palest pink taffeta, the collar being tailored and the skirt full-flared, with small inverted tucks at the waist. A charming effect was the wide pink sash forming a bustle-bow at the back. The two bridesmaids were Miss Eugenie A vent, of Dunedin, and Miss Jennifer Scaife. younger sister of the bride. Their frocks were of pink flowered georgette with fitting bodices and large square collars which formed the sleeves, and very full-flared skirts. Pink net hats were worn with no crowns, and they carried bouquets of pink carnations and blossom.

The best man and groomsman were Mr M. Trevathan and Mr F. May, of Tarras. The reception was held at West Wanaka, the home of the bride’s parents. Mrs Noel Scaife received the guests in a pale dusky-pink' crepe suit, and a small hat to match. Mrs J. Gillespie, the mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart black frock and hat and carried a bouquet of pale mauve and pink flowers. The bride left for the honeymoon in a powder-blue suit of fine crepe and a felt hat 'of the same toning.
