EIRE
Sir,—“Ulster Immigrant” is certainly proving a doughty champion,-, of the Northern Ireland way of living 'as compared with that of Eire. lam not prepared to dispute with him, as I am not an Irishman, and it would be presumptuous of me to attempt to do so. However, the one thing that puzzles me is why "Ulster Immigrant” ever-left his native country to come to these distant shores! If conditions are as he affirms, wild horses would not have dragged him away' from the land of his fathers./ Perhaps he would care to tell' us just why he came, and tell us as his own honest self, without the necessity of sheltering behind a very convenient nom-de-plume? Unless he makes his position clear he will be in the same position as the slicktongued salesmap. who received a large order for fountain pens, and then ruined everything he had done in the way of persuasiveness by signing the contract with a pen of a different make! Result—the order was countermanded and the salesman sacked.—l am, etc., Balclutha. H. Sutcliffe.
