According to messages from Singapore published in London, the disgruntled crew of an American tanker disclosed in Singapore that at least five ships on the registers of Atlantic Treaty countries are at present engaged under charter in carrying petrol and oil from Rumanian . Black Sea ports to Russian ports in the Far East. Some of the American seamen, who had just returned from a voyage to Vladivostok, said the shipping of petroleum suplies io Russia looked too much like the pre-war shipping of scrap iron to Japan.” In addition to two American tankers, members of the crew claimed that two Norwegian tankers and one Danish were regularly engaged in carrying oil from Constanza to Vladivostok. All the ships are reported to have been chartered by a London shipping agency on behalf of Russian shipping interests.
