MOA CREEK INQUIRY PERSONS WHO TRAVELLED IN DISTRICT CO-OPERATION sought

The police are anxious to obtain the help of any person or persons who travelled along the Poolbum-Moa Creek road or the Poolburn-Moa Creek Hotel road in a motor vehicle between the hours of 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on September 28 last. This statement was made to the Daily Times last night by Inspector A. G. McHugh, who is in charge of the police investigations being made at' Moa Creek, where the 63-year-old farmer. William Fraser Mclntosh, was murdered a fortnight ago yesterday. Inspector McHugh added that the police would like any person .travelling on these roads.who has not been interviewed by the police to come forward as soon as possible. In reply to an inquiry made by the Daily Times last night, Superintendent J. Mclntyre said that, so far, no one had come forward to sav that they had seen, or had heard of, the stranger that Mrs Mclntosh slated she spoke with in the yard of her home on the afternoon her husband was murdered in the wool shed. A great deal of checking had been done by the police over a wide area.

The police expect that they will today complete the long task of interviewing everyone in Ida Valley, Inspector McHugh shid yesterday. Progress with the investigations could be considered as satisfactory. There were no new developments. Residents of the Ida Valley have been in an uneasy state of mind since the murder. When this was mentioned to Inspector ' McHugh yesterday he stated that there was no need for alarm.

At present 20 police are engaged on checking files and continuing the search for the murder weapon in the district
