WAR VETERANS' VILLAGE PATRIOTIC FUND BOARD VENTURE PA WELLINGTON, Oct. 12. The New Zealand Patriotic Fund Board to-day authorised the establishment of a £250,000 war veterans communal village on a site at Okoroire, near Auckland. Accommodation for aged and semi-convalescent veterans of the 1939-45 war will be eventually contained in the settlement, which the board to-day named “ Okoroire Park. An architectural competition among war veteran members of the New Zealand Institute of Architects will be held to select a plan for the village The board decided to allocate £60,000 for immediate costs in connection with with the starting of the work.
