BLUE-EYED MONKEY

BIRTH AT WELLINGTON ZOO PA WELLINGTON, Oct. 12. The first bonnet monkey to be born in either Australia or New Zealand saw the light of day in the Wellington Zoo last week. Five inches of lively human-mimic, he is the pride and joy of his parents. ' Both have spent most of the time since his arrival stroking and petting the youngster. He is shortly to be followed by four more of his species. Bonnet monkeys, named for their parted “ hair do.” were considered by many to resemble humans more closely than any other creature, said the curator of the zoo. Mr C..A. Cutler, to-day. “This baby, which is the first to be born to any Australian or New Zealand zoo. has pale skin, blue eyes, and neatly-parted brown hair.”
